MUSIC DEPARTMENT

The CIS Music Program aims to build a balance between the conceptual and the performing aspects of music. The curriculum goes in a spiral progression where children get to build their knowledge and skills gradually while also having fun through the course of study.

G1 Singing, Non-Pitched Percussion

M/HS Knowledge:
General concepts as Pitch, Rythm, Dynamics, Tempo, Expression, History, Pop culture, Careers in music, Music Technology, Composition, Arranging, Multi-media

M/HS Skills:
G6-G9 Singing, Non-Pitched Percussion, Pitched Percussion, Recorder, Keyboard, Guitar, Ensemble playing (Choir, Band, Chamber)

We are also applying differentiation and integration in our program as often as possible. At the end of every quarter, semester, and year, the students are expected to have a musical presentation for each year level.

We offer extended music programs like Band Club, Glee Club, Chamber Music Ensemble, and individual lessons for Flute, Guitar, Piano, Violin, and more...
