SUPERINTENDENT

I take this opportunity to welcome you to Cebu International School – a school with a long and proud history in the Visayas Region of the Philippines.

I am very excited about commencing my work at Cebu International School and I bring to the school 10 years previous international school experience in IB world schools, as well as 19 years of administrative experience in both Australian and international schools. I look forward to meeting the CIS community and working with the team at CIS in working towards our school being the very best it can possibly be.

The primary aim of the Cebu International School is to develop well balanced, global citizens who are intelligent, concerned, dynamic, respectful of universal moral values within a multicultural environment, and able to cope responsibly in an ever-changing interdependent world. #1 - The fact that Cebu International School is the only school in the Philippines that is accredited with all three organizations of CIS (Council of International Schools), WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and PAASCU (Philippines Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities) means that we hold a unique position within the spectrum of education offerings in the Philippines.  And #2 - another factor to consider is that we are one of only seven schools in the Philippines that offer the IB Diploma Programme to our Grades 11-12 students.

International Accreditations with CIS (Council of International Schools) and WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) means that Cebu International School has met international standards in education. Everyone is familiar with ISO standards in products throughout the world, and hence international accreditation is exactly like ISO, however in the field of education.

International accreditation also means that Cebu International School graduates are able to enter Universities worldwide. With CIS being accredited, and you sending your son/daughter to our school, you know that your child is receiving an education of a certain standard, and then when they graduate, their High School Diploma is recognized by Universities worldwide. By attending CIS, you can provide your child with the best start possible in their life.

Being the only school in the Philippines that is accredited with all three organizations means that we are unique.

In addition, The IB Diploma Programme is recognized as the most academically rigourous High School qualification worldwide. It is studied in the best schools worldwide, at Grades 11 and 12, and students emerge from the IB Diploma (or IB Certificate) better prepared for University. Students and teachers worldwide are keen to study/work with the IB Diploma – not just because it is a balanced Grade 11/12 curriculum but because it rewards those who have a strong work ethic, and it is exciting, educational programme to be involved in. It is hard work, but in the long run – it is very rewarding to those who put in the time and effort required.
