ESL Program
The ESL program of Cebu International School is designed to teach English to students who are non-native speakers or who have a
limited knowledge of the language.
The program’s curriculum is designed to improve a student's proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Each ESL student is assessed and evaluated regularly on their proficiency level
through (a) teacher observations, (b) writing samples,
(c) oral proficiency interviews, and (d) formal tests.
GOAL 1: Use English to communicate in social settings.
GOAL 2: Use English to excel in academics.
GOAL 3: Use English in socially and culturally appropriate ways.
The components of our program are mainstream classes, sheltered instruction, self-contained classes, and after-school sessions.
