Student Parents School
   

Student Responsibilities

  • Be an active learner by taking responsibility in planning, doing, performing, and reflecting on the processes and results of the formative and summative assessments.
  • Use rubrics or criteria descriptors to guide learning
  • Seek feedback and support from their teachers and parents on how they can improve as learners
  • Use reflection opportunities to improve
  • Be familiar with the ATL skills and attributes and use the ATL report information to aid goal setting
  •  Take an interest and work together with Homeroom teachers and subject teachers managing the student portfolio

Parents Responsibilities

  • Be familiar with the Parent/Student Handbook
  • Know where to find the Parent Portal and how to access information from it and use information to understand the communicated information
  • Access the quarterly reports from ISIS
  • Encourage and support family discussions with their child(ren) on learning progress and achievements.
  • Create a suitable support learning environment at home
  • Attend student conferences and parent information sessions
  • Use the appropriate published channels of communication
  • Understand that learning is an ongoing process that occurs throughout the year. Grades received on the reports are snapshots of where the student is at that time.
                                                                                                 

School 

  • Develop classroom practices in accordance to the Assessment Philosophy and the Assessment Policy and Procedures.
  • Plan and adhere to the published assessment timelines as published in the Event Calendar.
  • Create record keeping systems that support the assessment practices.
  • Ensure all unit plans contain formative and summative assessment planning.
  • Ensure that all required assessment records are uploaded onto ISIS in a timely fashion.
