Social Studies— (Pre-school to Grade 12)
The Social Studies of Cebu International School prepares students for responsible global citizenship.Through its units of study, students inquire critically the history, geography, economics, politics, civics and culture of various places in the world including the Philippines that hold value and significance to the development and dynamic changes of the world and of humanity. It also explores on the unique development of human beings and their relationship and contribution to the natural environment and society. The knowledge and skills they will acquire will enable them to become active participants and leaders in national and international communities where they live and work. Students apply their knowledge and skills learned in Social Studies to make a positive impact on our changing world. Students explore and investigate various units of study anchored on the concepts of time, place and space, change and global awareness.
Linked to the CIS Social Studies standards and benchmarks, students understand and apply technical, analytic, decision-making and investigative skills to explore one or more of the concepts.
