CIS ASSESSMENT BELIEFS

  1. Effective assessment should improve learning by identifying strengths and weaknesses.
  2. The more students know about what is expected, the more learning takes place.
  3. Assessment should provide appropriate evidence of achievement of the selected learning standards.
  4. Data from classroom and external assessments are essential tools for improving both the curriculum and teaching practice.
  5. Students retain more of their learning when it is relevant to real life.
